About SPARKL

SPARKL started in 2007 and builds installations which people have to experience, and where people have to interact with. SPARKL is an initiative of Diederick Huijbers, Fabrice Koopman, Martin Bartels and Thijs Eerens. All four members of ‘SPARKL’ have different expertise, which results in interesting ideas and projects such as ‘The Crazy Wheelchair Race’.

Brullenbakken

Brullenbakken

"Brullenbakken" is a game with garbage. People are invited to throw away their garbage into one of the four carbage cans. Each garbage can will react upon new garbage. Above each garbage can an arrow which lightens up randomly indicates that you should throw something into that particular can. If you throw something into a garbage can of which the arrow has lit up you "won" and you'll hear a pleasant sound. If you were too slow and threw something away while the arrow wasn't lit up, you'll hear a sound like "AAAHHHH!!".

3fm

3FM and the Dutch Red Cross organized for the fifth time serious request. Sparkl helps with a interactive Christmas tree. Through your online donation you can lit the Christmas tree on the square near the 3FM Glass House. The donations will go to the 36 million refugees in the world.

Interactive wheelchair game 'Rol Je Rot'

‘SPARKL’ developed a multiplayer game with wheelchairs used as game-consoles. Skills, competition and fun are the ingredients of this interactive installation. Put on your helmet with camera – puts your face on the screen – and race! This installation was a big success at the lowlands festival and CineKid festival.

Park to Play

Park to Play is an interactive installation in which you are able to play videogames with a random car. With the lights, the steering wheel and the doors, games are controlled, without any adjustments to the car itself. Every videogame or application can be controlled with the automobile.

The Sound Illusion Cube

The Sound Illusion Cube, created by Thijs Eerens, is an installation built to disorientate people by using spatialized moving sound in combination with physical movement of the body. It is based on the madhouse principle in fun parks, but instead of people seeing a rotating room, they now hear rotating sound while blindfolded and sitting in a moving chair. The experience will take approximately six minutes.
